Q: Who makes your items?
A: All items are designed and made by me here in beautiful Northern New South Wales.
Q: What are your items made from?
A: Most items are made from natural Australian vegetable tanned leather. I choose It lasts longer and is kinder to the environment than chrome tanner leather.
The leather
Q: Whats vegetable tanned leather?
A: Vegetable tanning, or veg tan, is the method of tanning the hide to create leather. It’s called ‘vegetable' because of the natural tanning process and materials used like tree bark. This method of tanning is one of the oldest. Chrome tanning is a newer, quicker tanning method using chemicals, and is what most of the worlds leather products are made from.
Q: Whats the characteristics of veg tan leather?
A: Each hide can vary due to the natural characteristics of the skin such as scars and hair follicles. These differences is what makes each piece unique and special. Veg tan leather will also soften and darken over time, and naturally take on its own unique ‘patina’ with use. If you look after it, it can last a lifetime.
Q: What about vegan leather?
A: I don’t currently offer a vegan leather alternative for my products. The term ‘vegan leather’ is used to describe any material that is made to replicate the look and feel of real leather. Most commonly the term ‘vegan leather’ is used to describe plastic or synthetic materials such as PU / PVC. However, it is also used to describe plant based leathers as pineapple, mushroom and agave leathers. Very interesting stuff, plant based leathers, in my opinion, are true vegan leathers.
Delivery
Q: How long does it take you to make my order / what is your processing time?
A: As every item is custom made by me, I need time to create your order. About 3-5 business days is normal, though sometimes I can get items out within a day.
Q: How long does shipping take?
A: I offer standard shipping and express shipping. Within Australia standard post takes 2-10 days, express 1-3 days, though this is an estimate. You can find detailed information at AusPost based on where you are located. All items are sent from me, at postcode NSW 2484.
Q: I’m located out of Australia, do you cover customs / import taxes and fees?
A: No, buyers are responsible for any customs and import taxes that may apply. I'm not responsible for delays due to customs.
Q: What happens if my package does not show up?
A: If your package has a tracking number you can get in touch with AusPost, they will help you find your item if needed. I am not responsible for lost or delayed packages.
Returns & exchanges
Q: Do you accept cancellations?
A: As all my items are custom made, I only accepted cancellations if I have not yet started your item. So get in touch ASAP if you change you mind.
Q: Do you accept returns?
A: Yes I will accept returns if it's not a custom size or has been personalised. If they arrive damaged, I can't accept returns. If you wish to return something please note below:
- You must contact me within 7 days of delivery
- Dispatch items back within 10 days of delivery
- Buyers are responsible for return postage costs. If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value.
